Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as journalist for more than more than 45 years. She focuses her reporting on natural disasters as well as war zones. Curry has been a reporter in war zones like Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, TV news reporter as well as host. She is most recognized as a correspondent on the Today program a morning broadcast news show that aired on NBC. Curry was known especially for the reporting she did on natural catastrophes and war broken nations. Curry was born in Japan and was educated by her Japanese mom. Her father served as an U.S. Navy sailor. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents came together while her father was serving in Japan. Due to her father's service as a military officer, they moved a lot. Curry graduated from high school within Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with the degree of Bachelor's in Journalism in the University of Oregon. Her exposure to different cultures as well as her experiences throughout her childhood probably influenced her way of communicating on issues of international significance. Curry's family relocated often and Curry was not able to stay at a single school longer than 2 year. Curry attended various schools like San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia and Virginia. Ashland was where she eventually completed the high school. The broadcasting profession began with an internship at KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. When she was 22, she eventually became the first female journalist at that station. Following that, she went on to become an anchor and reporter for KGW which is which is an NBC affiliate station in Portland. After four years, she relocated to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. During her six-year association with the channel, she won two Emmy Awards.
